Hey All,
Wow don't believe I have been here a week already...Time really does fly when your having fun!!
Sunday 12th: Initial Meeting
Arrived and met all the cast at the studios, and had a little introduction and briefed on what our day would entail tomorrow. We then went to our accommodation which is a B'n'B called Dales-gate which is really nice and has proper country feel and beautiful views of the dales from the window, after we dropped all our stuff off there, we went to the pub next door for something to eat and a nice little chatter! After that we all wanted to be old dears so we went to the B'n'B and chilled with a good old cuppa and biscuits haha!! We all started chatting and having a good laugh, then this drunk guy came in and started to talking to us all and we all pretended to be from different countries and he was so intoxicated that he believed us!!
Monday 13th: Casting Day
Woke up had an amazing breakfast, but didn't eat too much as was so nervous. When we arrived we started with a warm up and learnt a routine, just to jog there memories from the auditions and we did the same with the singing too. After Lunch we had a chat with the managing director who told us about the ship and the duties we may need to entail while on the ship. We then got given our lyric packs and grids, which stated what we were doing in each show.
The Shows are as follows:
Dancing Queen (1/2 Abba, 1/2 Queen with a splash of the Bee Gees)
Musical Whiz (Musical Tribute)
Sippin' Soda (Set in an american diner, 1950s)
Ready, Steady, Go (Based on the Music Tv Show of the 1960s)
Viva Las Vegas ( Based on Las Vegas)
Dance Dance Dance (The dance Show)
Tuesday 14th/ Wednesday 15th: Singing Days
We spent the next two days going through 'Musical Whiz and Dancing Queen' which was tricky with the harmonies and got a lot to learn but was so nice hearing the cast sing together
Thursday 16th: Sea Safety Training
EARLY WAKE-UP CALL...had to be up at 5 to get a taxi to Liverpool to do our sea safety training, it was so much fun, we had to flip a life-raft and learn how to pull someone along in the water if they are unconscious, we all passed though!! yay!!!
After training Peel (our company) put us into a hotel for the night which was in Liverpool Town Centre, we had a bit of retail therapy and went for a beautiful Nandos which was really yummy. We then went back to the hotel and get ready to out for a couple of drinks, then we went to the docks and learnt a lot about the past which was really interesting and had a look around which was really pretty and was like you just entered Victorian times.
Friday 17th: Training and the Long Journey Home
Went to training and learnt how to control crowds, then we had to wait ages from the taxi driver to pick us up, a journey which was supposed to take just under 2 hours took us nearly 4 1/2 hours as she took the wrong exit and we ended up in Manchester city centre on a friday in rush hour. We came home and had an early night.
Saturday 18th: Staging Show One.
We had our first day of physical show rehearsals, which was pretty fun! I was only in one dance number today but have more coming up in a couple of days! But it was great to finalize harmonies and finally start taking all the information in as there is a lot! And now I am currently sitting writing up my week and re- experiencing all the amazing things I have experienced this week.
I miss you all loads and I am having a blast with my team!!
Mark xx
